Dentures are custom-made, removable dental appliances that replace missing teeth and surrounding tissues. They are designed to fit snugly over the gums, restoring the function of natural teeth for activities like chewing and speaking.

The time frame for getting dentures varies depending on the type and complexity of the case. For traditional dentures, it can take several weeks and multiple appointments to complete the process, which includes taking impressions, making models, and fitting the dentures.

Full dentures are used when all the teeth in the upper or lower arch are missing, while partial dentures are designed to fill gaps when some natural teeth remain. Partial dentures often have a metal or acrylic framework that clips onto existing teeth to keep them in place.

Modern dentures are designed with comfort in mind, using lightweight, biocompatible materials that fit securely in the mouth. However, it may take a few weeks for your mouth to adjust to new dentures. During this period, your dentist can make adjustments to improve fit and comfort.

With proper care, dentures typically last 5 to 10 years. However, as the mouth changes shape over time (due to bone loss and gum shrinkage), dentures may need to be relined or replaced to maintain a proper fit. Regular check-ups with your dentist will help ensure that your dentures continue to fit well and function properly.

TESTIMONIAL

Real stories of how we create miles of smiles

For years, I struggled with ill-fitting dentures that made eating and speaking a real challenge. I felt self-conscious and avoided social situations. Since coming to Echo Dental Solutions, the difference has been night and day. The team took the time to understand my needs and crafted a set of dentures that fit perfectly and feel so natural. I can now eat my favourite foods again without any discomfort, and I feel so much more confident smiling and talking.
